With the release of Spotlight about the investigative journalism team from The Boston Globe’s exposé of systemically ritual abuse of children by members of the Catholic Church. Often journalists have a terrible reputation but in 2003 the eponymous team won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service and this style of watchdog journalism can expose great wrongdoings or bring about real change in the world and potentially save lives. People are quick to dismiss journalists as seedy, dishonest and only bothered about a story, maybe that might be partly due to the way they are portrayed in movies.
